hi some how a council tax bill has found its way to me.its in my name ex partner passed it to me. the bill £449 from 2015 i left her and that address the year before. my name still on rent account because of arrears and a court order attached to it. the council say my name is there as long as theres arrears and court order. and ive got a sneaky surspision theres probably going to be more council tax bills. these bills are nothing to do with me how can i sort this without getting involved with marstons

If you want to sort it out without bailiffs involvement then you need to liaise with the council!

If you left the year before then you’ll have a liability at the property you moved to and there’s your proof.
